The Creative Merit of Virtual World-Building

Which video game world has felt the most "real" or artistically impactful to you, and what elements made it transcend being just a backdrop for gameplay? Should video games be judged by the same cultural standards as elite literature and cinema?

One of the most artistically impactful game worlds for me was Red Dead Redemption 2. Its world felt alive because of the environmental detail, realistic character interactions, dynamic weather, and emotional storytelling. The game wasn’t just a setting for missions; it created a believable society with history, conflict, and atmosphere that players could emotionally connect with. Video games absolutely deserve to be judged alongside literature and cinema because they combine narrative, music, visual art, and interactivity into one medium. Unlike passive entertainment, games allow players to shape experiences directly. Even online discussions around topics like fastest payout casino canada show how digital culture increasingly influences modern entertainment perspectives.
