Color is an aspect of life which influences each person’s actions and emotions, however subtle. Color allows us to create our own individuality and flare. The theme of my work focuses on Still life with Flowers and painted primarily in Acrylic on Canvas. I strive for a simplicity within my work while being unique. When I paint flowers, I feel inspired to create a harmonious and joyful symphony bursting with sensuality and life. I see them as exuberant souls, dancing on my canvas. I enjoy working with reflections, shadows and light. .My style is bold and wild using the process of layering and texture in order to keep the interest of the viewer.

Lauren Morris
Lauren Morris was born in Cape Town, South Africa. After completing Graphic Design in South Africa, she travelled to America. There she had the opportunity to continue with Graphic Design working in Washington D.C while attending classes at the Corcoran School of Art, in Arlington, Virginia. It was there that she learnt to work and explore the many options of Fine Art. Following seven years of both academic and artistic accomplishments, she moved to Vancouver and was thrown into a world full of challenges: My art and my senses merged. Making art for me is like exploring a new country for the first time. “Art is always an expression of something; whether an idea, image or feeling. The bold bright colours of flowers inspired me to do a series of still lives exploring many different brush strokes striving to create my own unique style. When I paint flowers, I feel inspired to create a harmonious and joyful symphony bursting with life. I see them as exuberant souls. I love to work with Rich colour, light and reflections. Painting predominantly in acrylics and mixed media, I hope to inspire thought and to evoke the viewers’ emotions through visual imagery”.Year Participated in Art Vancouver
