Culture Days

This coming fall Art! Vancouver will participate in the 8th annual Culture Days. This celebration’s goal is to bring together the community while embracing the importance of arts and culture through free participatory activities. These activities give the public a free, hands-on, and behind-the-scenes look into the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, and designers at work. Every year, Culture Days takes place in multiple communities across Canada, beginning the last Friday of every September.

Art! Vancouver has organized a number of interesting events for you to engage in. You will have an opportunity to chat with professional artists, learn about their inspirations, their techniques and what it means to be an artist. This conversational experience will feature the underlying sound of the human heart in the background. In addition to these eye-opening discussions, guests will have the opportunity to watch artists Jake Townsend, Joy Peirson, and Petra Giffard Paint to the Rhythm to a beat of the audience’s choice and witness UKAMA Gallery artist, Icebear, carve a drum sculpture as he shares stories from his Indigenous community. A variety of different works will be available to view by locally-based artists including collaborative street photography by Meet Me at the Lamp(p)ost, watercolour creations by Mohammad Reza Atashzad, along with aerial photographs captured on drone by Talyn Wayrynen.

Come immerse yourself in these Art! Vancouver experiences on September 29th 4pm – 8pm and 30th between 2:15 pm – 5 pm at šxʷƛ̓exən Xwtl’a7shn (formerly QET Plaza) 630 Hamilton St, Vancouver, BC V6B 5N6.
